Catalogue element name or identifier

I haven’t been able to determine how to identify one catalog element from another. The content is not indicated in any way in the editor and there doesn’t appear to be any field to add a title or name. I’m creating a restaurant site for a client and the restaurant staff who will be editing the content will need to be able to identify catalogue elements’ contents without having to click in and out again (repeatedly). Is there a way to do this? Thank you for any assistance!
