To whom it may concern
I am helping out a fellow web designer figuring out why her Enfold powered site is performing extremely poorly. She likes the theme and wants to make one last attempt at keeping the theme. In fact, she owns no less than three Enfold licenses.
We have been trying to improve rankings for several months, but nothing seems to make a difference. In fact, the site is dropping like a stone and isn´t ranking for anything. For the record, this is not a SEO question per say. The content on the site is typically relatively short and is unlikely to attract top rankings (Except locally). However, there is absolutely no reason for the site to perform as poorly as it does.
The aHrefs screenshot (Link in private content) is a comparison of my site (Elementor) and the site of my client WM. The WM site has been around for much longer than mine (MWD) and ought to be at least as visible. As you can tell, the difference is noticeable to say the least.
After some Googling, it has come to my attention that other people are having similar issues. I have come across mentioning’s, that the Yoast plugin apparently has some issues with the Avia builder. And I have experienced first-hand, that my trusted media cleaning plugin is unable to do its job. It appears not to be able to identify images used within the builder. In fact, my suspicion is that something is causing the SERPS to disregard the short code builder content.
We have even tried starting over by rebuilding the site from scratch in order to clean out the database. For a moment it did in fact seem to stop the freefall in organic keywords, yet 1-2 weeks later the drop continues.
Another issue we have with Enfold is the amount of image versions that are being created automatically. Every uploaded image result in 20-25 different image versions which results in an unnecessarily large database.
So, to sum up my questions:
- Do you have any ideas as to what could be causing the poor performance in ranking and visibility?
- Is there a way to limit the number of images being created?
Best regards

With a really quick look over the web site, yes it is a SEO issue.
h1 are missing, metas are poorly created, deep linking between pages does not exist ( only from menu ), homepage is over crowed…Best regards,

Wow, thank you so much for your in depth answer to my questions. Makes you wonder about you claim on Themeforest: 5 Star support team for all your needs
Did you even read the full message? Any thoughts on the multible threads on Yoast/Enfold issues that you can easily google. Any thoughts on the ton of images the theme is creating?
Also did you notice that my client has paid for your support?

August 26, 2019 at 9:00 pm #1131099Hi,
Yes, we do know about the images and yes you can disable those if you do not want, so this is something fixable.
I understand your client payed for support, but I checked the page and there are a lot of issues when it comes to SEO, so why not run a test there with any page audit tool and fix those, this would be a really good start to get access and fix things.Best regards,

Thank you for your answer.
As mentioned in my first message, this was not intended to be an on-page SEO question. Also as mentioned, we are well aware of SEO shortcomings on the site. However, missing meta´s and missing H1´s (only in the blog) would not result in search results as catastrophic as with the site in question.
Request:
Please take a look at the originally attached screenshot of the aHrefs comparison of the two sites. The massive differences are strange to say the least. We would still like your input on the question about Yoast and Enfold not working well together!
I noticed a support thread on the subject in your own forum, where you are participating personally as recent as june of this year. So, I would imagine that you might have a thought or two about potential Yoast/Enfold issues?
Question:
Is there a risk that Enfold or the Avia builder produce shortcode that yoast can´t read and perhaps even result in Google not crawling the pages where the Avia builder is being used? And if so, do you have any fixes or updates in the pipeline which could fix this issue for us?Regards
