Hi – getting to grips with Googles new Maps API billing scheme and seeking clarification on Enfold’s implementation.

    According to Google:
“a basic Maps Embed API request that uses Place mode (to embed a map with a marker) or View mode (to embed a simple map). Basic Embed requests remain free with unlimited usage.”

I have started to notice charges accruing on some of my Enfold based clients sites – is there an option in Enfold map elements to use only this basic Embed API so that they remain free of charge?

    Thanks, M

    Hey M1000000,
The “place mode” is used by default, the option in the map element is called “roadmap”.
My last understanding was that Google was going to track the account “usage” and then apply the “discount” in the billing.
Do you have many API’s on one account, or are they linked to a manager account?

    Best regards,
    Mike

So you don’t have to be afraid with the normal version either. I have several Urls running on one API, and get regular monthly bills for 0,00Euro.
