    Hello,

I need your help for a client because it’s a pb which arrives quite frequently to her and never to me. I explain. She has a blog, and we download Header images. Frequently, the header image has a size pb.

Example for your to be able to reproduce :
Article : Pourquoi on aime un restaurant ? On M le Mermoz, Mieux, Mokonuts !

At the beginning of the article, you can see the image twice : The 2nd image is https://www.arianegrumbach.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190605_122333_long-1-e1562223858598.jpg, size 830 * 196 px. If you use this image as header image, it gives you a huge vertical image, which is really weird (cf print screen : https://www.dropbox.com/s/xoc4eocojz0sjjj/Result.png?dl=0).
So I’ve copied it and downladed it again with a new name https://www.arianegrumbach.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/image-corrigee.jpg and it works properly.

So what’s the pb with the image 20190605_122333_long-e1562223663333.jpg when we use it as header image… (When the client integrated it in the article, you can see 830 x 196 px. In the media library, it’s written 830 * 200… But my new one is 830 * 196 and works as header image so it’s not this…

    Any idea guys ?
Tx a lot for your help

    Hey newki75,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

What is the original size of the images your client is uploading? Please ask her not to upload image wider or taller than 1600px. The size of the image used in the single post page can have a maximum height of 321px.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello Ismaël,

I’ve checked with her and she follows properly my wordpress training : always downloading images already rezied. So the weird image has been downloaded in 830x200px.
Could it be linked to all the images WordPress generates when you upload an image?
Tx for your help understanding (did u reproduce the issus?)
    Nice day,

    Hi,

We can’t reproduce the issue on our end. Is this happening frequently? Do you notice any similarities with the images that caused the issue?

The image is displaying twice because you’ve set it as the featured image and later on added in the post content editor.

    <!-- wp:paragraph --><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-15337" src="https://www.arianegrumbach.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190605_122333_long-1-e1562223858598.jpg" alt="" width="830" height="196" />

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hello,

It happens once a month I guess. I’m surprised you can’t reproduce the case by deleting the current feature image to replace it with : https://www.arianegrumbach.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190605_122333_long-1-e1562223858598.jpg, I manage to reproduce it.

No obvious commun point between the images, except she resizes it with the same tool all the time… I was thinking to a debit pb she launches the download. I know that WordPress creates by itself several thumbnails so maybe a big mess here, would it be possible?

Tx for your help because I don’t know what to do with this client to fix the pb, even if it’s not too frequent but she losts confidence and loose time.

    Hi,

I get the following error when I set the featured image. (see private field)

Problème SEO : L’image à la Une doit être au moins de 200 x 200 pixels pour être exploitable par Facebook et les autres réseaux sociaux.

The plugin requires at least a height of 200px. Do you have a taller or larger version of that image?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

I’ll try to say that to my client and we’ll check. Don’t close the case for the moment, I will add more info next time it happens.
    Tx Ismaël
