Recently, I have been trying to make minor changes to my CSS through the Additional CSS customizer. However, when I select “publish” I receive an error stating the following:

“Looks like something’s gone wrong. Wait a couple of seconds, and then try again.”

I see others have had this issue in the past and the solution provided such as uninstalling plugins and flushing my cache have not worked. Is anyone running into a similar issue?

    Hey Jacob,

Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Thanks for the login details, I can’t reproduce the error you are describing though. What exactly do we need to do in order to reproduce it?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Please do the following to recreate:
    1. Login to the Temporary account I gave you
    2. Go to Apperance>Customize
    3. This will bring you to a live preview of the site with a menu on the left-hand side of your screen, please select the “Additional CSS” option.
    4. Here you will find many CSS changes and tweaks I have had to make. Please try and change/add any style command in this column
    5. Then select “Publish” after doing so
    6. If done so correctly, you should receive the following error, “Looks like something’s gone wrong. Wait a couple of seconds, and then try again.”

It should be noted I am able to add CSS through the Quick CSS option enfold makes available in its “General Styling” options, but I am far more productive and efficient when I make changes that I can see a live preview of.

    Does this make sense?

    Hi,
Thanks for the login, I see that you are getting this error:

/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 406 ()

Typically this is due to an ModSecurity error, please see this article for steps to follow to correct.
or ask your webhost to take a look at the error and take the appropriate steps.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Thanks Mike and Rikard!

It looks like it was an issue with our Host Provider (BlueHost), but they were able to fix it once we made them aware of the fact that it was a 406 error. This was the first time I’d ever had to write my own question on the forum and sure enough it didn’t have anything to do with our theme, lol.

Thanks again for the support and such a robust theme.
