    I would like to use the portfolio items for a knowledge base.. which is everything but “creative work” :-P

    Is there something that I can put in the functions.php to flip this out for something different?

    Hi,

    So you mean the schema right? This would require to change the file that loads the portfolio shortcode, so you can short it out.
