Hello
I’ve looked at lots of posts and have a ton of css to style a custom sidebar menu widget, but I can’t seem to get the parent menu item – ‘All Successes’ to display with a unique active color – the sub menu items work well but the parent menu item seems to use ‘current_page_item’ so all of the text, both parent and child change color. I just want the parent item to be highlighted when active, please. Here’s my bunch of css to date, and thank you in advance :)/************************ BLOG POSTS ***********************************************************************************************/ .widget { padding: 0px 0px 10px 0px !important; /* background: #ff0066; */ } .sidebar .widgettitle { color: #ff0066 !important; } /* custom HTML titles and ul for successes ********/ .successesTitle { font-family:"Helvetica Neue LT W05_65 Medium"; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; color: #374f6b; text-transform: none !important; font-size: 22px; line-height: 22px; text-align: left; padding: 15px 0; max-width: 100%; margin: 0 auto; } /* top border for all items and bottom for sub menu */ #top .content .flex_column .widget_nav_menu li:first-child { border-top: 1px solid #979797; border-bottom: 1px solid #979797; } /* bottom border */ #top .content .flex_column .widget_nav_menu li:last-child { border-bottom: 0px solid blue !important; /* border-bottom: 10px solid blue !important; */ } /* bottom border */ #top .content .flex_column .widget_nav_menu li { /* border-bottom: 10px solid #ff0066; */ } #top .sidebar .widget.widget_nav_menu ul.nested_nav { border: none !important; background: transparent; } #top .widget_nav_menu li { box-shadow: none !important; line-height: 18px; } #top .widget_nav_menu li a { /* border: none !important; */ font-family: "Helvetica Neue LT W05_65 Medium"; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 15px; line-height: 24px; letter-spacing: 0px; color: #979797; } #top .widget_nav_menu li a:hover { color: #000; } /* hide little item in sub menu */ #top .widget_nav_menu ul ul li::before { display: none !important; } #top .widget_nav_menu ul ul li a { } /* subcat indentation */ #top .widget_nav_menu .sub-menu { padding-left: 20px !important; position: relative; border-bottom: 1px solid #979797 !important; } /* hover color */ #top .widget_nav_menu ul ul li a:hover { color: #000 !important; } /* bottom border sub menu */ #top .widget_nav_menu ul li a { border-bottom: 0px solid #979797 !important; } /* line-height & colour sub menu */ #top .widget_nav_menu ul ul li a { color: #979797 !important; line-height: 22px; } /* active */ #top .widget_nav_menu ul ul .current-menu-item a { color: #000 !important; } /* active both main and sub menu items */ #top .widget_nav_menu li.current_page_item a { /* color: green !important; border-bottom: 10px solid #ff0066 !important; */ } /* active */ #top .widget_nav_menu .current-menu-item > ul { color: #ff0066 !important; } #top .widget_nav_menu li.current_page_item a { /* color: green !important; */ } li.current-cat a { color: #ff0066 !important; font-weight: bold; } /* sub. categories - not used here */ li.current-cat ul.children li.cat-item a { /* color: orange !important; */ /* font-weight: normal !important; */ }
