    hello i buy the lastest version of enfold (4.5) because i want update from the version 4.2.6. I have not child theme. I’d try to sostitute the enfold folder via FTP but nothing. I also try to upload the theme with the wordpress panel but nothing. How i can upload version from 4.2 to 4.5????

    Hi liukdesign

    First of all, please use a child theme. It prevents you from lost changes after the theme update.
    Secondly, please make a full website backup (files and database) before you perform the update.

    So what exactly do you get? Any error messages? The more information you provide the easier it is to provide useful help for your issue.

    Thanks Michael….Sorry but i am not an expert of child theme, but I have backup.

    When i try with wordpress panel the output is that is impossible install the version…while via FTP there is an error 500 and don’t load any page or panel

    Hm that’s weird…
    How exactly did you try to update via FTP?

    It is important that you replace the whole folder to avoid any leftover files from the old version. Otherwise this will cause issues…

    Ya ya, with FileZilla I delete all file in the enfold theme folder.
    Fortunanly I’d backup and now my site is ok, but is yet at the last version.

    Hi Victoria i need more help . :(
    Now i will try:
    – change theme activate
    – delete enfold 4.2 via FTP
    – Upload enfold 5
    – re change theme activete

    It’s correct for you?

    For now i’ll try this, but nothing….

    you can install this plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/, download the latest version of Enfold from ThemeForest and upload it in Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload and theme will be updated.

    The error says that the link is expired. Try again

    If you need help updating then please post admin WordPress and FTP login details in private along with a confirmation that you have backups of the site in case something should go wrong.
