I have just discovered the dynamic_avia directory in /wp-content/uploads. From reading other threads it appears this directory stores the merged CSS and JS files if you enable the theme’s compression features.

I used to use the compression features but no longer do, they are now – and will stay – disabled.

There are a significant number of old files stored in the directory taking up space, which are no longer used.

Given I no longer use compression, can I delete the directory to free up the space?

Or do other theme functions or files use the directory, in which case can I just delete all the avia-footer-scripts-58078048aa2a6ae910a88e894ca71cf5.js and avia-merged-styles-165e40e340e74ad09ef0173cb7ac3de4.css files?

Note: some of the merged files are nearly a year old. I’m guessing the merging process does not delete old versions, which means this directory will just grow and grow in size. Can I suggest some feedback to the dev team to clean up old files when a new merged one is created?

    Hey zimbo,

You can delete all the files in the dynamic_avia directory, there will be another file generated there, which contains the settings from the theme options.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria
