I have an Enfold site that is acting wonky on a Dreamhost account and I’m curious what I should be asking them. I’ve ready other support tickets that when they’ve experienced this it eventually gets fixed when they bug Dreamhost enough but I’m not really sure what to be asking them. When I try to update the page, upload a plugin or update the theme it just reloads to the blog post area or to a Page not found area. If I reload the page enough times it eventually comes up or eventually loads.

Just for plugin updates at http://www.fourbirdsmobile.com/wp-admin/update-core.php it takes me four or more times before it loads properly.

This is one of the last error entries: [17-Mar-2019 21:12:54 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined property: avia_sc_iconlist::$content_styling in /home/public_html/fourbirdsmobile.com/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/iconlist/iconlist.php on line 613

    Hey Andrea,

What are the installation specs? It seems to be the configuration issue. Which php are you running?
    Best regards,
    Victoria

It was 7.2 and I’ve been trying 7.1 and 7.0 to see if that would help.

I tried disabling my child theme and deactivated the caching plugin and went through trying to delete any reference to it.

    Activity Log
    Akismet Anti-Spam
    Gravity Forms
    Instagram Feed Pro Personal
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Smush
    Use Any Font
    WP File Manager
    WP Remote
    WP Rocket
    WP-Optimize
    Yoast SEO

Right now when I go to the homepage it loads continuously until I do a hard refresh a few times and then I have to save it a few times.

In the File Manager plugin you can see that there is no error log but I added this to the wp-config.php

    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
    define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);

So, if you go into the wp-content you can see the debug.log file which has the error logs in there.

I’m at a loss as to what to do as the client wants to get in there and start making updates to the site and she definitely won’t understand why she has to save the page three times to get edits to save.

Any help with regard to what I should be asking the host would be greatly appreciated.

Any thoughts on a fix for this issue?

Please and thanks for any insight into what the issue is.

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay. We tried logging in to the site but the account seems to be invalid. Is the account active? Do you see any errors in the browser console or in the network activity panel?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Shoot, I reset that password. I don’t see errors that make sense to me.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

We are able to reproduce the issue. The admin-ajax.php file is not loading properly — causing an internal server error. Please ask your hosting provider if the said file is being blocked or blacklisted by the mod_sec/mod_security rule. Have you tried deactivating the plugins?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hey guys,

So I was hoping you could provide more insight on this issue. The hosting company is pointing to Enfold being the cause of it not saving work. Any other thoughts as to a solution?

The error just keeps happening internally which could be a high probability of being the culprit:

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

The FTP login details above are invalid. Please provide another so that we can access the files. We would like to inspect the “function-set-avia-frontend.php” file.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Well, attached are the WordPress and hosting logins – is that enough/

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

We still can’t connect to the file server. We tried to connect via SFTP and plain FTP, but it doesn’t work. Please check the FTP details carefully.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

I’m confused, I didn’t send FTP login info, just Dreamhost login info.

    #1095178

    Hi,

Sorry about that. I thought that was the FTP login details. Please provide an FTP account so that we can login to the file server.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Never mind, the client is rebuilding the site using a different theme. She had hoped this could have been something resolved more quickly as she wasn’t able to save anything without trying two or three times.

    #1095355

    Hi,

Shall we close this thread then?

    Best regards,
    Jordan Shannon

I still wish it could be resolved as this isn’t going to be the only person that hosts their Enfold site on Dreamhost.

    #1096055

    Hi,

We don’t really encounter a lot of users having this kind of issue between the theme and that particular host, so the problem is probably related to something else. Unfortunately, we can’t help you further without access to the files. We’re very sorry to hear that your client decided to leave Enfold.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
