Hey everybody!
I upgraded my layerslider to incorporate a popup slideshow triggered by a button.
I selected the “open by click” within layerslider > popup. I set my trigger class; and then added the same custom class to the button element.
When I click the button, the slideshow opens briefly (less than a second) and closes. The trigger is working.
If I direct the button to “open link in new window,” then a new browser window opens. When I close the new window, the slideshow is running in the (original) window containing the button. This is the only circumstance where I can get the slideshow to run as a popup via a button trigger.
I’ve named the page containing the trigger among my “targeted pages” within layerslider; put a code block with the particular layerslider slideshow shortcode on the page; and generally messed with all the layerslider settings trying to identify the problem. I am out of ideas at this point.

Unfortunately, it would require quite some time and customization of the theme to achieve this, so I am sorry to tell you that this is not covered by our support. However, if it’s really important for you to get this done, you can always hire a freelancer to do the job for you or write to the Layer Slider support :)

I am simply attempting to get basic “open by click” functionality out of the layerslider popup. Meaning the popup trigger is a button.
There is a post in their support forum saying the issue is on the theme side and directing the poster to inquire here.

VictoriaAfter further investigation, your first response is correct. There’s a fundamental conflict between layerslider’s popup with button functionality and the enfold theme. I found a satisfactory solution using a button the directs to an anchor and has the look of a popup. I prefer this solution to messing with the php at the potential expense of having to modify other elements of the site thereafter.
