`My client is a Credit Union and they are susceptible to lawsuits (as are all financial institutions here in the US) for not meeting specific accessibility guideline for their websites. I’m trying to address a single accessibility error being identified by WAVE (website accessibility evaluation tool) located at http://wave.webaim.org/. This is the online tool many institutions are using to test if these guidelines are being met
We had several errors originally throughout our site, but the vast majority of these were addressed with one of your recent theme updates, but we still have one that we’re unable to fix, and I was hopeful someone could provide some guidance.
The error given is that of an “Empty Link – A link contains no text”. I’ve linked to a screenshot in the private content section for reference, along with the code being identified by the WAVE tool. It appears to be coming from the homepage LayerSlider image, even though I’ve entered a description for TITLE, ALT, & REL in the Link & Attributes section of the slide editor for each image in the slider. I’m unsure how to add text to the link in an effort to satisfy the error message.
Once again, any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly,

The empty link is on the layerslider.
I have a screenshot in private content that shows the empty link, fixing it should resolve the issue.
Hope this helps.Best regards,

Yeah I was able to see that it’s the layerslider with the empty link (based on my scan at http://wave.webaim.org), but I’m unsure how to actually fix it.Regards,

Can you give us temporary admin access? so we can check your layerslider.
Just post the login credentials in private content, so it’s not visible to other users except for the moderators.Best regards,

February 26, 2019 at 7:18 am #1071653Hi,
Thanks for the update.
That is how the layer slider plugin handles links added via the layers’ Links & Attributes > Linking field. If you want to satisfy the evaluation tool, you have to remove that link and then replace it with a button or a text link instead.
Best regards,
