reuseable blocks

Hi,

I need to have block elements advertising on a precise subject, grouped by categories. I’ll have 12 of them. On one page category 1, I list 3, on the other 3 others etc and on homepage I list them all. These are block that have to link to a detail page (not an article) and are used on multiple pages.

I want my client to update one block in a single place and it updates in all pages where it’s used, would be counter productive to update multiple times one block cause it’s on more than one page…

I tried to work it out with special article categories and then use “blog posts” element to show the elements I want. Which I could design the way i want, but now the links are auto generated on the article details, and I want the whole block to link to the page I decide…

How could I do something like this ? If I use portfolio items, I’ll run into the same problem: i don’t control the link…
