Hello,
I have two videos on the homepage of my Enfold website that aren’t autoplaying/loading properly. The banner video is static unless you refresh the page and the second video shows a black screen until you prompt it to start.
How do I fix this issue so that both videos load when a user lands on the page? (homepage linked below)
Thanks for the continuous support!

Can you disable caching and minification for now?
Best regards,
VictoriaFebruary 14, 2019 at 10:11 pm #1067177Hi Victoria,
I have tried that already and it didn’t seem to fix the issue.
Do you have any other resolutions for this problem?
Thanks!

Thanks for that, though both videos are auto-playing without any problems on my end using Chrome. Are you sure that you are not getting locally cached results?

RikardFebruary 20, 2019 at 8:21 pm #1069676Hi Rikard,
No, it is still not working on my end and for many of my colleagues. It seems as though it is only not working in Chrome. I have tried it in Firefox and IE and it seems to load fine.
If you or anyone else on the Enfold support team have any input into how I can resolve this issue that would be much appreciated!
Thanks
February 20, 2019 at 9:06 pm #1069694Hi Rikard,
Do you think it could be caused by the new Google policy regarding videos with sound? I have read that this can cause videos to not autoplay so maybe this is the issue.
Do you know how I can mute the videos to see if this resolves the issue?
February 21, 2019 at 9:44 pm #1070109Prompt support on this matter would be much appreciated. I don’t mean to seem unruly but this is the last obstacle on our website before we can launch it.
Thank you again for the continuous support.
February 23, 2019 at 8:02 am #1070612Hi,
It works on my end when logged in, but not when not logged in. That implies caching, what happens if you clear the cache from your caching plugin and leave it deactivated? Here’s a guide on when not to use a caching plugin.
Best regards,
RikardFebruary 25, 2019 at 7:46 pm #1071444Hi Rikard,
The same thing is happening on my end. When I am logged in the video works fine, but when I am logged out it doesn’t autoplay. I have now fully cleared the cache and deactivated my caching plugin. The video still seems to not autoplay in Chrome…. I’m not sure it is a caching issue as the video loads fine in IE and Firefox.
This has been an issue for almost 2 weeks now and it is still not resolved…
Could you please look into this matter in more depth and help me find a solution?
I appreciate the help.
February 26, 2019 at 1:57 am #1071582Is there a way I can edit the shortcode to see if my theory of muting the video is correct? I would just like to test this as I am on a short time period for launching this site and nothing has resolved this issue yet.
I have attached a screenshot below.

I haven’t heard from you in almost a week…. Can you please help me figure out how I can automute both videos on my homepage? I tested this in Google by automuting in the website settings from the browser and it worked.
Your help is appreciated.
March 5, 2019 at 6:37 am #1074676Hi,
We would like to apologize for the late response. The videos on the demo are not set to autoplay, so we’re not sure how they automatically play on your end. Unfortunately, there is no mute option in the Video element, but it’s available in the Full Screen Slider or the Color Section element.

Thanks for the update. And we would like apologize for the confusion.
The videos in the demo page were created using the “Video” element or shortcode. That element or shortcode is available in the advance layout builder or the shortcode generator. Insert the Video element, specify the link, save and then update the page. That is all there is, no special configuration or anything. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to make it auto play or start on page load.
There are more info in the documentation: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/video/
Best regards,
