Hi there, my web host installed an ssl certificate for me and I’m getting the following Mixed Content error below on “Why No Padlock” for images. I tried deleting the logo image and reloaded it (now called … logo-original-345×82 2019) via Media Library and it also shows as http and gives an error on Why No Padlock. It seems like all of the images in my Media Library have the http? I’ve read through the forum topics and there seem to be various fixes suggested but nothing ‘this works’ so thought I would contact you. I’ve tried to keep plugins to a minimum in genera and am not sure if thats the best way to go? What do you suggest. Pls help. I also have a second website with Enfold theme that came up with the same problem.

An image with an insecure url of “http://aclassicyacht.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/logo-original-345×82-2019.png” was loaded on line: 198 of https://aclassicyacht.com/.
This URL will need to be updated to use a secure URL for your padlock to return.

An image with an insecure url of “http://aclassicyacht.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Alaska-Whale-watching-thumbnail.jpg” was loaded on line: 363 of https://aclassicyacht.com/.
This URL will need to be updated to use a secure URL for your padlock to return.

Hey thanks for looking, you are right 2nd one General Settings is on http. Do you think if I change it to https it will fix the problem or am I missing something else. Wondering if I need to do more in Control Panel? Also if I make the change will I have problems getting back into the WP Admin? I guess I just add the https to that too?

    Hi,

normally there should be no problem if you change the path under general settings to https.
And yes the image paths should be fixed then :-)

    Alex

    Hi,

ok another question the images on your main page for example are the image paths relative or absolute paths if these
are added through the image element of enfold they should be correct now if you changed to https. So i think absolute paths at the moment.

Another thing you can try now is to get a plugin to fix those paths for you like…… Really Simple SSL

    Hi susizimm,

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,

Hi Victoria, I purchased the SSL Certificate through my web host Arvixe and they installed it. Then left me with the Why No Padlock link and it not working. The only thing I have done, was as Alex suggested above, and changed the “WordPress to https ……. General settings, it was still http.

In my Control Panel the Softaculous Apps installer shows my sites as http ……. wondering if there is more I need to do in there or if its all through the WP Dashboard?

There were Admin Access details with the original post and I have copied them again below – hope that is whats required:) Also the link to ‘Why No Padlock’ which shows the images as you say with http. I tried uploading a new image and it still uploads as http.

    Thank you – Susi

Thank you for the links. I followed the WP Beginner tutorial manual setup procedures and they worked. For anyone else reading this, I am a decent amateur at WP. It took a little time but was pretty straight forward to follow step by step. I checked the site in Why No Padlock which was a handy checker tool.

    Thanks again – Susi
