After trying to validate my token I am getting the following set of errors. I have tried using incognito mode but that hasn’t worked. I am including admin access details and ftp if needed.

Last time we checked the token we were not able to connected to Envato:
    Purchases could not be accessed
Username could not be accessed (needed for your information only)
E-Mail could not be accessed (needed for your information only)

    Following errors occured:
Purchases: Errorcode 403 returned by Envato: Forbidden:
    – response_code: 403
    – reason: scope-missing
username Errorcode 403 returned by Envato: Forbidden:
    – code: not_authenticated
email Errorcode 403 returned by Envato: Forbidden:
    – code: not_authenticated
Purchases: A problem occured accessing your purchases. Unable to check for updates.

    Hey drfingerless,

Did you make sure to give the token the correct permissions? Please read more about how that is done here: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/#toggle-id-5

Fantastic. That was the problem. I am used to other themes pre-filling these boxes but once I ticked the right ones the generated token was accepted right away. Just one other thing. I now have the latest version of Enfold but my Layerslider did not update in the process and is still v4.5.5. And in fact a layerslider I am using on the site now does not function. How can I update Layerslider?

    Hi drfingerless,

That is very strange. The Layer Slider gets updated with the theme and so yours is supposed to be updated. Did you update the theme via FTP?

Which version of php are you running?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    PHP 5.6
I just used the WordPress update feature within the Theme details section.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, I’ve never seen that happen before. What happens if you disable the jQuery Updater plugin? I’ve seen it cause problems before, though I’m not sure if it can be cause this time. If that doesn’t work then please try disabling all plugins to see if that makes any difference.

You should probably consider updating your PHP version since 5.6 and 7.0 won’t get any more security updates from now on.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

My host is in the process of updating their servers to 7.0. Should happen in the first half of this year.
But that shouldn’t have prevented the layerslider updating. What happens when I disable the jQuery updater plugin? Nothing. It deactivates.
If I disable all my plugins that isn’t going to install a new version of layerslider. So how will I do that?
Currently my site is failing without this new version.

    Hi drfingerless,

Please make a full website backup and reupdate the theme via FTP.

If you need further assistance please let us know.

As instructed I deleted and re-uploaded the newest version of the Enfold theme via ftp but I still have the old layerslider installed. It doesn’t seem to be updating with the newest version of the Enfold theme.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, would you mind if we gave it a go? We just need to verify that you have proper backups of the site before we try to overwrite the theme?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I would be happy for you to give it a try.
I am including login details and FTP access below.

I have backed up the site by the way.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, I had a look at your site again just now and I saw that you had the LayerSlider installed as a separate plugin. I deactivated that and now everything seems fine, I’m not sure how I could have missed that the first time. Could you check your site please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
