Hi Guys,
I recently experienced this issue early on and it went away somewhat but now it seems to be back. Whenever I try to update my theme, my website completely crashes and I receive a 500 error. I can not even log into my website now. I tried deactivating all plugins before I updated but the problem persisted. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Thank you so much
January 25, 2019 at 5:38 pm #1058824It seems I have fixed the issue by restoring my back up files and now I can update the theme. Still not sure why this keeps happening every so often though. Very strange!

Can you please check the server log for error?
Here is how to find it: http://snapcreek.com/blog/wordpress-error-log-friend/
Which version of Enfold do you have now?

I am running 4.5.3 version. I can try looking into what you mentioned.
Thank you so much

RikardJanuary 27, 2019 at 8:12 am #1059310did you solve the problem? Is it your homepage? – i mean with your nick it is not so hard to find yours. ;)
by the way – try to compress / optimize the jpg a bit more : f.e. the rustic_farmhouse_plaque_pig.jpg got over 2MB – which reduces the performance of your loading.January 31, 2019 at 5:10 pm #1061059Hi Victoria and Guenni007,
So even though i was in fact able to update my theme by restoring my back up files, I can not seem to access my file manager in my hosting account? I looked everywhere. I use Godaddy and I do not have a CPanel.
Everything seems to be working fine now and my theme is all up to date but I would still like to be able to figure out why this happens every so often whenever there is a new theme update.
Thank you so much!
January 31, 2019 at 8:46 pm #1061149Hi ctpropertiessouthcoast,
You might want to write to the Godaddy support for that. We cannot provide support on such issues.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

Are you referring to the error message you are getting in the FTP client? If so then no, it’s not related to the theme at all. You seem to be able to connect to the site, correct?

RikardFebruary 8, 2019 at 2:55 am #1064386Hi,
I actually could not connect to the site through file zilla. It kept failing. Someone else, however was able to do it and sent me the screen shot. We both thought it was strange.
Also, I am having two other issues. I don’t know if I should open a new thread? It has been driving me crazy. The borders are not showing at all in my grid rows on phone or tablets (only desktops). No idea why. I tried several different work-arounds and nothing.
Also, I am in the process of re-doing some pages and wanted to make it more responsive. I have a test page created and added in some media queries and when I pull my screen in and out multiple sections briefly appear at the same exact time then quickly dissapear again. The weird part is it isn’t the sections I added media queries for.
Thank you!
February 12, 2019 at 4:08 am #1065762Hi,
Thanks for the update.
I actually could not connect to the site through file zilla.
1.) You have to contact your hosting provider and confirm that you have the valid login credentials.
2.) The border is removed from the grid when it is positioned after another grid. You can override that with this css code:
.av-layout-grid-container + .av-layout-grid-container { border-top: 1px solid; }
Please open separate threads for new inquiries.

IsmaelFebruary 14, 2019 at 12:00 am #1066689Hi,
that code worked perfect. Thank you. So I just tried updating my theme to see if it I would still get the “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.” message and I did yet again. It crashes the entire site. The only way to fix this is to go and restore my back up files, which I just did. I still can not update the theme though.
I attached my credentials below.
Thank you for the help!
February 18, 2019 at 10:48 am #1068257Hi,
Thanks for the update.
Unfortunately, we can’t do the manual update for you. You have to ask your hosting provider to confirm that the login credentials are correct. Once you’ve managed to access the file server via FTP, go to the wp-content > themes folder and delete the entire Enfold folder before uploading the latest version.
