Users can no longer preview their posts properly since the recent theme update. I’m guessing this is probably a glitch with the update? Or is there something else I need to do to get that working again?
January 18, 2019 at 12:56 pm #1055433Hey ChristineGerman,
Thanks for the login details. Could you try to select the Classic Editor as your editor on the main page of the theme options to see if that helps please?
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 21, 2019 at 9:03 pm #1056880The students really need the block editor though. The whole point of us getting this theme was to use the modular system of the advanced layout editor. It offers so much more. Every post created has used the advanced layout editor.
January 21, 2019 at 9:24 pm #1056886Tried what you mention anyways, and it did not work. Posts still cannot be properly previewed since the update. I’ve switched it back to the block editor setting for now.
Please let me know if this will be getting fixed soon, this is making our site very difficult to use.
January 22, 2019 at 8:18 am #1057096Hi,
Using the Classic Editor means that you get the Enfold layout builder as it worked before WordPress 5, the Block Editor is referring to the new WordPress layout builder so you won’t lose anything. This has worked for all other customers so if you need further help then we need to have your permission to change the editor for testing purposes and to point out where we can reproduce the problems you are having.
Also, who are “the students”?
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 22, 2019 at 7:56 pm #1057409I think you missed my last message. I switch to the Classic Editor and it did not fix the issue. You are welcome to test, I’ve posted the login details in this thread already. This site is used in a college program, all our users are students of the program. This is a huge component of the program and we are currently unable to properly use our own site as a result of your last update. It’s very frustrating.
January 23, 2019 at 7:33 am #1057601Hi,
I enabled the Classic Editor, created a new post and saved it as a draft. Then I chose to preview it and it working fine on my end. Where can we reproduce the problem you are having?
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 23, 2019 at 8:06 pm #1057918The odd one works like that, but most posts with more content do not work. Here’s an example of one that will not preview. This is typical of the majority of our posts.
January 24, 2019 at 9:07 am #1058081Hi,
Thanks for that, though I still can’t reproduce the problem on my end. I added a sentence to the first header and previewed the post and the changes showed up as expected on the front-end. Do you have a sure way of reproducing this problem?
Best regards,
RikardJanuary 24, 2019 at 8:01 pm #1058326Is there any other way to discuss this with you guys? This 24hr delay between every response is really dragging this out. Phone call or video chat? The problem happens inconsistently but it is happening often. I could take you through a few different posts were it is happening on our end. I don’t have a sure way, because it is very inconsistent. Before your update, this never once occurred. My suggestion would be to have a look at various posts and try to preview them, I’m sure it will happen with one of them. They are mostly previewing incorrectly.
Note that a preview does happen. But it does not match the most current post…it previews some of the content, but not all of it. you need to compare in detail and see whether it really is working or not.
3 more examples below.
January 25, 2019 at 2:35 pm #1058751Hi,
If it happens inconsistently then it’s likely due to browser cache, what happens if you clear the browser cache after the problem happens and then try again? I still can’t reproduce the problem on my end for the record.
This is the only support channel we have, we handle all requests on a first come first serve basis. I’m not sure what would be the point of having a video call or live chat if we can’t even reproduce the problem on the actual site?

RikardFebruary 4, 2019 at 1:09 am #1062436I’m having the same issues with the brand new purchase of this theme. I’ve purged, worked with my server host and purged some more. The preview was working, then I saved changes, updated, clicked Preview and…went to like the very first attempt at a page build!
I know you said you can’t recreate these issues on your end, but I can tell you they are happening here, too. And I’ve just been working with this theme for two days. In that time, I’ve purged cache on my computer, the site’s cache, went through my cPanel and purged well over 10 times today.
My situation: I’m not working on a live site. I’m working on my site through my computer’s hosts files. Could this be part of the issue?
It was working again for a few hours. Now back to that old original bad test home page. Egad! I’m going mad.
February 4, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1062655Hi EWBailey354,
Please open a new thread and include admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look at your site.
Best regards,
Rikard -
