Confused on Changing Fonts & Background colors in Enfold

I can’t seem to get this straight – maybe i just havent found it in the instructions…can someone help me?
What is the difference between General Styling and Advanced Styling? The settings o n my General settings seem basically correct. But, I have made attempts thru the Advanced styling to change fonts in headings….and some just don’t seem to work, or it’s simply me not understanding.

Example: I’m using the Blog Posts Widget (element?). I can’t get the Heading font to stop being WHITE. It is set that way in the General Styling, I think, but when I go to Advanced– i thought i should change it to BLACK under WIDGETS font color. Is this wrong? What is the way to fix it? Or, do i have to change it in Quick CSS? If so..how?
