Hi I’m running Enfold on WPengine with a PHP 5.6 version and wpengine says PHP 5.6 and 7.0 will both reach end of life in December 2018. Is Enfold compatible with PHP 7.2?

I’d like to know if my site (https://casateulada.com) will run ok once I upgrade.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Antonio

Is Enfold compatible with PHP 7.2?

Definitely! I was running my website with Enfold for about a year with PHP 7.2, now upgraded to PHP 7.3 just recently. Works like a charm.
However, I do recommend you perform a full backup of your website (files and database) before doing the PHP upgrade.

Another important fact you should consider are your plugins. It might be possible that not all of them are compatible with PHP 7.2 or PHP 7.3.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

    Hi Antonio,

You shouldn’t have any problem with updating to 7.1 or 7.2. I would advice you to update the staging version first though if that is possible at WPEngine.

I use WP Engine and Enfold as well, and I can sure you PHP 7.2 works great.
On the WP Engine dashboard / portal, you can actually toggle to PHP 7.2 and if it doesn’t work, toggle back to 7.1.
As Michael said above, I would make a full backup using WP Engine’s one click backup, and I would take the extra step of downloading a full backup to your machine using the “Download production backup ZIP” option on the backup panel. I think that’s a good thing to do every 6 months or so.
    Best
