Thanks for closing topic: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-contact-form-and-spam/page/2/#post-1047072
As requested, here is your new topic post.
My question was HOW, not where. I already saw that you could get the ‘plugin’ from Github, but how.
When you look at the link that was provided, there is just a list of files.
Where is the button that says “Download Plugin” – that’s the info I need.
It is not clear what to do.Many thanks,
December 19, 2018 at 6:37 am #1047111Hey Heathcliffe,
Github doesn’t have a download for that one file, you have to navigate up to the parent directory and then download the whole directory.
Here is a DropBox link that is just the plugin.Best regards,
MikeDecember 19, 2018 at 4:50 pm #1047235Thanks Mike, much appreciated.
I installed the plugin. I went to google and got my keys. Not sure why your colleague thinks that is so difficult for users and uses that as an excuse for it not to be in the core theme.
However, I have a staging site setup. Installed plugin, entered key, went to my contact form. Completed the form, completed the 4+2 equation and checked the box to confirm I am not a robot. I was then presented with the Submit form …. perfect. Except .. the reCaptcha no longer shows if I try to fill the form in again. I have deleted my history and cache and cookies. I have used a proxysite but the recaptcha is not displaying. Any ideas?
I have added the site link below in private.
Many thanks,
December 20, 2018 at 3:45 am #1047558Hi,
I took a look at your page and see that you are getting a Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token
Looking at your page source code I believe that you have changed the recaptcha message to:Please confirm you are also not a bot. You can then hit the Submit Button.
with a braking return, please adjust so all of the text is on one line.
Best regards,
MikeJanuary 3, 2019 at 3:45 pm #1049622Thank you @Mike
It now works.
I have rolled this out to all my sites, but I am still receiving SPAM emails.
I guess this suggests manual entry?
Do you recommend any plugins to tackle how to filter porn links and other spam messages via the contact form? Many thanks,
January 4, 2019 at 2:02 am #1049752Hi,
I would suspect that this spam is coming from just a few users which you could ban their IP addresses, try using a plugin such as TraceMyIP Visitor IP or WP-Ban which logs IP’s and helps you ban them, or you could do the same without a plugin.
If you don’t want to do that, try reading this articleBest regards,
