    How do I put an excerpt on the main page? The default has just the title, date, author (because I set those) but no excerpt at all, just “Read More >” (which I also set).

    Hey biteandsip,

    Are you using the Layout Builder to create your posts? If so then you have to set that manually in Excerpt field. If you don’t see that field then please select to show it under Screen Options in the top right hand corner of the edit screen.
