    Hi all,

    We have a site that uses Enfold. We’re looking to push it to a PHP 7.2 server, but unfortunately, after some troubleshooting, we’ve determined that the theme isn’t compatible. We were wondering if you all would have an update to the theme coming soon that might fix that problem, and if you do, how soon could we expect it? Would it be possible to get early access?

    Hey getyoufound,

    Can you please be more specific what errors are you getting? A lot of users are running php7.2 already.

    Hey Victoria!

    Thanks for getting back to me! Unfortunately, we’re not seeing an error in the console, but the entire site is displaying as blank when previewing the site in PHP 7.2 using WPEngine’s preview. We’ve spotted this on another site (see the private link below), and the only common thread between them that we can’t cross off is the theme. If you’d like, we could provide you with access to one of the sites for you all to log in and take a look.

    My site works fine with the WP Engine preview of 7.2 and is on latest Enfold version… I am afraid to update though until mods / developers confirm that Enfold is compatible with 7.2.

    (I assume you have tried disabling all plugins and then running the WP Engine emulator?)

    Just updated my Enfold / WP Engine site to Php 7.2 and it’s working great!

    Hi getyoufound,

    Thanks for the update, I think we will need those access details so that we can have a closer look. Are you are sure that it’s the theme which is causing the problems? You could verify that by disabling all plugin and removing any customisations you might have added.

    Do you have a staging site where PHP 7.2 is actually activated? We can’t see anything unusual on the live site.

    We could set up a staging environment on the 7.2 server for you to look at if it would help. So far, we’ve only seen in the WPEngine 7.2 preview software they offer. Let me know for sure you’d like to see it there, and I’ll get the WPEngine techs started on spooling up a staging version of the site.

    Hi,

    Please do so, so we can see the issues you are experiencing. Enfold 4.5 is compatible with PHP7.2 therefore i am guessing that issues might be related to one of the plugins you are using :)

    Since I’m on Enfold 4.5 and WP Engine too, I thought I would add that you can go into the admin panel on WP Engine and quickly change php version to see if the site crashes. If it crashes, you can quickly toggle back to the older PHP versin. I did this while support was on the line (on chat) in case something went wrong, and it worked great. Hope that helps.
