Howdy,
So I have been successful with the 4.5 Enfold update on most of my sites. Some clean-up with the token aspect, but so far so good. The plugin suggested here was the key! However, I do have one site that is having an issue. Enfold 4.5 is uploaded and the site is fine. However, when I go into WordPress and click on “Theme Options” it throws this error …
Sorry, that didn’t work. Please try again or come back later. 504 Error. Gateway Timeout.I did try coming back — and coming back the next day, and it has not resolved.
Can you help? Please …
Thanks!

Where can we see and reproduce the problem? Did you try contacting your hosting provider about it?

RikardNovember 18, 2018 at 1:08 am #1034804Hi Rikard,
Thanks for checking in. This happens when I am in the WP dashboard, and initially occured when I clicked on Theme Options located on the top bar. Just now I was able to get to the Enfold theme update page via “Enfold Child” on the side bar – revalidated the Envato token (good), but then clicked on another option and the 504 error came up again. Only seems to happen with aspects that are related to the theme, not add pages, posts, etc.So, I suppose you would need login in credentials for WordPress.
And no, have not yet tried the hosting provider — never too sure if their WordPress person will be available.
Let me know if you would like me to set you up with a login.
Thanks!

Yes, we could need a login to have a look at the problem. Please post the details in private.

Thanks for checking back in. Looks like the website in question has resolved — most likely a hosting issue, yes?Re: Envato tokens — have you had anyone mention that sometimes while in the “revalidate” mode, it just gets stuck? I’ll try again later, just curious.
Thanks again for being willing to help! Much appreciated 😀
Cheers!
November 21, 2018 at 8:56 am #1035926Hi,
Great, glad you got it sorted. Yes, it’s likely some type of problem on the server where your site is hosted.
About tokens; please refer to Yigits post here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/updating-to-enfold-4-5-and-validating-personal-token/

RikardNovember 27, 2018 at 2:18 am #1037889Hi Rikard,
Finally got around to going further with the one trouble site I have. Had to upload the Envato plugin — looks like it did validate the token I had made. Question though — when I try to validate it via “Theme Options” the “Save all changes” just keeps spinning as it was before I installed the Envato Market plugin. Shouldn’t it update as well? Also, must I keep the Envato Market plugin on board and activated going forward? If so, should I load this plugin on all of my Enfold sites?
Thanks!!! You all are awesome!
December 1, 2018 at 5:29 am #1039488Hi jancecile,
I’m very sorry for the late reply. Did you try to validate using an incognito window in Chrome? Some users have reported that it works then. I’m not 100% sure about the Envato Market plugin, but maybe you could keep it installed for now?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 1, 2018 at 10:31 pm #1039742Thanks Rikard — will try the Chrome incognito — and will keep Envato plugin installed.
I posted this question just now — any special preparation required before updating to WordPress 5?
Thanks!
