This problem was reported by a client a few weeks ago, we’ve tried to replicate it in other websites with similar situations but have been unable to.
The problem presents itself as follows: Client has multiple revisions of an ordinary post, makes a mistake, goes to revision overview page. When choosing a specific revision, it’s showing the correct adjustments in preview. When choosing “Place back revision”, it will then place back a completely different post.
There are approx 2000 posts in use, nothing major in itself.
Where should we look for a solution? We have checked in with WordPress Core developers (ticket 45228), we’ve concluded together that with all plugins disabled and twentyseven-theme enabled the problem doesn’t exsist, when enabling enfold, the problem suddenly appears.
I have cloned the site to test it on a different server, and am able to replicate the issue in this installation too, so nothing server-specific should be going on.
We’ve been adviced to contact your support forum, hoping you can point us in the right direction, or maybe investigate this situation.
I’ve added login details to the staging area, FTP details in the private content.

Hm, that seems a bit strange. Here is an idea. WHen you restore – select the normal editor and go to text version.
Save – then go back to ALB. Let us know if that should do the trick.Best regards,

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately this doesn’t change the situation.
I’ve added a video of that in the private content.November 16, 2018 at 12:24 am #1034184Hi,
Not sure what else can it be. I did asked some of my colleges to take a look although.

Thanks for the reply. Will you be able to have someone look at it, this client uses the mentioned feature quite often.
November 19, 2018 at 6:05 pm #1035229Hi,
Why does the customer use it?
What changes do they make?Best regards,
BasilisNovember 20, 2018 at 11:10 am #1035505Hi!
They might have mistakenly changed something in the page and would like to place something back to a previous version.
Does that really matter though? It’s a feature that is broken when the theme is activated.Changes are done to only text fields, but they happen with all changes.
November 23, 2018 at 11:27 am #1036919Hi,
Thanks for the update.
The site is running on an old version of the theme, 4.4.1, and it’s using the beta version of WP, so I can’t edit the post with ALB. This is fine but installation of another plugin is not allowed for the current user, so I can’t activate the Classic Editor plugin. Please upgrade the theme to version 4.5 and downgrade WP to version 4.9.8 if possible. I’ll check it again afterwards.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 23, 2018 at 2:48 pm #1036969Hi,
That is the staging area, yes, that one runs on an older version, to see if that would resolve the problem.
On the live version we’re on 4.5 (see image in private content) and latest stable wordpress version (see second image).Problem exists in both unstable wordpress 5 and in stable wordpress 4.9.8. Problem occurs in both latest Enfold version as previous versions.
November 23, 2018 at 6:17 pm #1037045Hi,
Alright. Have you upgraded the theme on the staging site? And please use the stable version of WP.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 26, 2018 at 12:27 pm #1037627Hi Ismael,
That is correct! We upgraded staging enfold versions and installed a stable wp version now.
December 4, 2018 at 1:08 pm #1040709Hi,
I would like to apologize for the late response. I’m not really sure what’s going on here. I’ll ask the dev team to take a look.
Best regards,
IsmaelDecember 4, 2018 at 2:53 pm #1040739Hi Ismael,
Thanks, do you have a time frame, when can I and the client expect a response?
December 5, 2018 at 12:14 pm #1041182Hi,
Thank you for using Enfold.
I checked the page (see private content) and created a few revisions by adding ALB elements at the bottom.
As far as I see I could correctly restore the revisions I created.
There had been an update in the logic how Enfold handles revisions in one of the last releases because that was buggy. Could be a reason.
I would recommend not to use a second pagebuilder – that might lead to conflicts with Enfolds pagebuilder – could also be a reason for the problems.
Best regards,
Günter -
