Hi,
We have an odd problem. We used Layer Slider’s popup function to create Mail Chimp pop-up forms, one that pops up when you’re leaving the page (cursor going toward the navigation bar), and another that is simply timed.
We thought they were working properly, but it turns out that you have to be logged into the site in order for the forms to work properly.
If you’re logged in, you give your name and email, the form says thank you, you get an opt-in email, and the information goes to the mailchimp account as intended.
But if you aren’t signed into the site, you enter the name and email address and nothing happens.
Any ideas? Unfortunately this is time sensitive. We put a developer on it and he was unable to figure anything out other than:
1. The form works as intended when just placed on a page.
2. The form works as intended when embedded in the modal only when logged in.
3. Other forms work inside the modal.October 18, 2018 at 4:22 pm #1023429Sorry, they started promoting the site today so I had to take the forms off the site, below in in Private Content are links where you can see the forms live. Please disregard the private data above and use the info below.
October 24, 2018 at 4:21 am #1025771Hi,
Thank you for using Enfold.
It looks like the subscriptions are being sent properly. I tested it on the “test-timed-signup” popup form.
ajax_mailchimp true avia_0_1 test%40test.com avia_avia_username_1 avia_generated_form1 1 Status code: 200
I didn’t log in. Did you enable the GDPR option in your mailchimp list or forms?
Best regards,
IsmaelOctober 24, 2018 at 4:28 pm #1025970Hi Ismeal,
Thanks for taking a look, but I don’t know what to tell you other than it does not work on Chrome or FF unless you are logged in.
Oddly enough it isn’t doing the exact same thing it did last week, but the form renders differently if you are logged in versus not, and an email address will only go to the Mail Chimp list if you are logged into Enfold.
In the private data is a quick video showing what I’m talking about.
And we don’t have any GDPR setting enabled–no visitors from the UK to speak of.
Thanks,

October 25, 2018 at 2:16 pm #1026356Hi,
Thanks for the info.
I noticed that there is a “phone” field in your mailchimp list. The mailchimp shortcode only supports text and dropdowns at the moment. Try to remove the phone field from your list.
Please note:
You can only hide form fields that are not required
Currently only text and dropdown elements are supported properlyI found this error after testing the form again while logged in.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/binhamme/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/mailchimp/mailchimp.php on line 552
The form fields are blank. Can we have access to your file server? I would like to check the form data.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 6, 2018 at 12:10 am #1030118Apologies for the late reply, was on break last week.
We just linked the popup to a MailChimp form integrated onto the page, rather than integrating the form directly into the popup–that did the trick.
So whatever the problem is, it seems to be related to the layerslider popup.
Let me know if you’re still curious and I’ll dig up server access for you. If not, we worked around the issue and it’s all good.
Thanks!
