    Hi,
how can I change the text which is shown on search result pages (“Suchergebnis nicht zufriedenstellend? Versuche es mal mit einem Wortteil oder einer anderen Schreibweise”) and headline related entries on blog pages (“Das könnte Dich auch interessieren”)?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hey simus_systems,

You can edit the /enfold/lang/de_DE.po to adjust the translation, or do you want to change the English text as well?

    Hey Victoria,
thanks, but we have an external provider, I don’t know how to reach these folders … they are not in the WordPress interface, are they? Is there an alternative?

    Best,
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,

They are in the Enfold folder. You need to go via FTP to edit them.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,

    Hi Andrea,

Are you sure that’s the version of the German you have set for the website?

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi Victoria,
I found out that there is a second file “de_DE_formal”, which contains all expressions in formal German language.
If I choose this in the WordPress (I use Polylang – maybe this is the problem??) language definition, it’s working. So the users are addressed with “Sie”, that’s already a lot better.

But: if I do any changes in that file (there is a mistake I tried to correct) and load it up again, it’s still not working. Seems like it does not connect to that file directly …!?

The admin access is in the private content box.
    thanks
    Andrea

    Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, if I understand correctly, you have found that “de_DE_formal” has the language text that you want, except for a couple of words. To edit please try the tool at Poedit
    This is recommend by Polylang:

Note: The strings hardcoded in PHP files are not handled by the Strings translations list table. These strings are stored in .po/.mo files and you can translate them with tools like Poedit or the Loco translate plugin.

This is because the PO & MO files work together, but the MO file requires a special tool to edit.

    Best regards,
    Mike
