I recently purchased another Enfold website template but no matter what demo I import, I run into problems with editing the pages.

When I imported the gym template it would only let me ‘publish’ not update, which was weird but it would always give me a ‘sorry page not found error’ and no changes were saved.

So I deleted that imported demo and went with the construction litigation demo import and although it lets me update i still get the ‘sorry page not found’ error message and no changes are saved.

I can create new pages but I really want/need to use the imported styling to speed up the website development.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening and how to fix it please?

    Hey Steamed,

Thanks for the login details. Could you try to reset your permalinks under Settings->Permalinks to see if that helps please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

Thanks for suggesting that, I found the permalinks but I can’t see a reset function, do you mean just select ‘plain’ because it is on ‘day and name’ atm?

    Thanks

Update. I set it to plain and it still doesn’t save/update any changes.

I’ve added a temporary link to the private section

In fact I’m getting the same problem on my other WP website which is an enfold theme…. this is bizarre..

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. Yes, select something different under Permalinks and save, then select the same option and save again. If that is not working then you could try to delete your .htaccess file and do the same thing again.

I see that you only have two plugins active but it might be a good idea to disable both of them to see if that is where the problem is coming from.

Also, what happens if you activate one of the default themes, does the same thing happen?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Thanks Rikard,

On this website ( as opposed to my other one that the same thing is happening to) when I change it to the default WP theme i do NOT get this problem.

I saved my permalinks to ‘day and name’ again and that didn’t resolve the issue. It’s definitely only when I am using the enfold theme. I also update my php in my FTP control panel but that didn’t resolve anything.

I can find a few .htaccess files when I search my root directory but I don’t know which one to delete, which folder do I delete it from?

I also tried deactivating both plugins but it didn’t resolve the issue. FWIW both of those plugins have been working harmoniously with the enfold theme on my other site but both sites have run into this problem in the last 24hrs.

For some reason both websites appear to have resolved the issue. I’m not sure what the problem was or how it has resolved but i’m glad I’m back on track – frustrating. Thanks for your help Rikard.

Can we please keep this thread open for a few more days in case it reoccurs?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Great, glad it started working again. Did you remove or edit any of the .htaccess files? We’ll keep the thread open in case you should have any further problems.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I didn’t remove the .htaccess because I wasn’t sure which of the 3 I needed to remove.

    Hi,

Ok, but it’s still working, right?

    Best regards,
    Rikard
