    Hi
I am getting this error message when I try to update enfold from the WP admin. I know I can do it via FTP, but can you see what’s wrong here?

    Hi,

This is a known bug in the Envato update api. We found a fix/workaround for it on our end and we’ll include it with the next update. You can add this fix manually – use the theme editor (Appearance > Editor) and edit Enfold. Go to enfold/framework/php/auto-updates/ and open the class-pixelentity-theme-update.php file. Clear the entire file (remove the code) and copy the entire code from here https://pastebin.com/raw/epetJ1SG into the blank file. Afterwards save the file and the update should work.

You can also use ftp to update the file. Save the code from here: https://pastebin.com/raw/epetJ1SG to a file called class-pixelentity-theme-update.php. Then connect to your server via ftp, go to the directory wp-content/enfold/framework/php/auto-updates/ and overwrite the class-pixelentity-theme-update.php with the updated file you created before.

    Best regards,
    Peter

    Hi
I am getting the same error on two of the websites I designed with Enfold.

“An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.”

I tried the fix suggested above – pasting new code in the class-pixelentity-theme-update.php file in Editor but the update is still not going through. I don’t have a child theme set up on this website – do I need to set one up for this to work? Peter mentioned in his response above that the new Enfold update will include a fix – how far away is this? Wondering if it is worth waiting for the update ;)

    Thank you
    Peta

    Hi,

    @peta_moonstone
    – please create me an admin account and I’ll modify the file for you.

Wondering if it is worth waiting for the update ;)

You need to modify the file even if you just want to install the next update via wordpress. The only other solution would be update the theme via ftp. We’ve no ETA for the next update yet but I guess we’ll release it this or next month.

    Best regards,
    Peter

Can you please let me know what I was doing wrong – I’ll need to update the other Enfold sites I manage as well.
    Thanks again.

    Hi,

I updated the theme for you. I had to deactivate the “UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore” plugin, then updated the theme and then re-activated the plugin.

    Hi pikkuapuri,

I see that you’re using Enfold 4.4.1 and it is the latest version. Looks like you managed to update it.

Which part is not working for you?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi,

You can copy the settings from the parent theme to the child theme. Go to Enfold > Theme Options > Import/Export and click on the “Import Parent Theme Settings” button.

    Best regards,
    Peter

Oh! That’s really cool. Thanks Dude (btw The Big Lebowski is my favourite films) :)

    #1011299

    ….but even that didn’t help???

    #1011302

    Hi,
What exactly doesn’t work now? Please try to clear the performance cache (Go to Enfold > Theme Options > Performance and set the css and js compression to disabled.

If this still doesn’t solve the issue please create me an admin account and I’ll look into it.

    Best regards,
    Peter

    #1011314

Yep, that didi it. Don’t know, maybe the cache was stuck or something. “life goes on, man” … thanks a million!

    Peter
