    When I am pinning a rich pin from my posts, it is grabbing my Facebook PROFILE from the social share button on my post page, making all my posts on pinterest appear to be written by my FaceBook profile not me or my FB Page. My FB Profile has NOTHING to do with my pins and isn’t anywhere on my site. How can I disable this? I don’t want to disable the button. I’ve checked with Pinterest, facebook and other colleagues and they all point to something in my theme. I don’t have any idea where to begin to look. But, I did double check my social profiles and they are correct. My social profile to follow me on Facebook links to my PAGE not my profile, making this even more odd! Help, please….

    Hi,

    Are you referring to the theme’s social share section? Please note that both Facebook and Pinterest rely on the open graph meta info. This is what the open graph meta info looks like on one your posts “retrospective-power-context/”. (see private field)

    <meta property="og:locale" content="en_US">
    <meta property="og:type" content="article">
    <meta property="og:title" content="The Retrospective Power of Context - Sara Thomas">
    <meta property="og:description" content="What got you here? That question is the retrospective power of context. It helps us look back to understand the present. It also helps develop trust.">

    Do you see those info when you pin or share something?

    So how do I change the meta properties? Forgive me, I know enough about the backend to be dangerous – LOL! This is what is the problem. See private content.

    I want that to refer people to my website not to my facebook profile.
    1) where is this file/info located?
    2) can I change it globally for my site?
    3) what would the code look like if I wanted it to be my web address instead? Is this correct: see private content.

    Hi,

    You need to configure the Yoast SEO settings to change the meta data – this article will help you: https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-yoast-seo/

    Thank you. I FINALLY found where it was picking up my FB profile setting and changed it to my FB page. So, I thought that was it. But, NOPE. Will look at the article you shared in more detail. Thanks.

    Hey!

    Can you give us a screenshot of the pin? This tool should help you validate or check the current meta data in your post or page.

    Hi,

    What happens when you disable the Yoast plugin? That info is taken from the following meta tag, which is generated by Yoast.

    <meta property="article:author" content="facebook.com/sara.b.thomas" />

    Thanks for your help. I reached out to pinterest. It seems to be something on their end that they’ve fixed. The good news is, whatever it was, my pins don’t show my facebook account any longer.

    Hi,

    Glad it is fixed. Please feel free to open a new thread if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
