Page Preview is updating live content

I noticed that when I do changes using the advanced editor and preview it in browser, it actually updates the content right away even if I haven’t saved using the Publish button. I even tried opening the live page in another browser and my preview version was already available. Is this by design? Is there an option do prevent this? I do not want my changes to appear to the users while I’m testing my new content…
