This is an ‘if question x = No’ go to next question type of post lol

I recently purchased the Woocomerce Brands plugin and I am looking for a way to convert the several hundred already imported ‘Product brands’ from tags so they show up in Brands under Products.

1st question – is there a way to do this without having to manually re-create the Brand name and without having to go through 12k+ products and manually assigning them to the Brand Name?

2nd question – if the answer is NO to question 1, would I be able to create a new CSV file with the following fields and import it using the WC product import suite…

(Sku being the primary field for my product identification)

sku, Brand, Brand Description, Brand image

3rd question/option – if questions 1 & 2 are not an option, and importing my ginormous product files from scratch is something that makes me want to pull out my hair….

My last thought and ideally last approach would be modifying the fields in my SQL DB. I’m hesitant to do this without asking for guidance mainly because if I screw it up I’m screwed, although I will have a fresh db backup done in advance.

Looking at my products in my WP admin panel I see that I have the product brands set as tags and I also have an attribute called brands with all the brand names.

What would be the best way to change either the tags or attributes in my SQL DB to become a legit Brand that the Brand Plugin will recognize properly?

I hope that this makes sense and I understand it’s a fully loaded set of questions but any guidance is much appreciated :)

Please contact the woothemes support staff: or the brands plugin author and ask him the questions. The brands plugin and its import/export capabilities have nothing to do with our theme.

    I figured it out.

    Thanks :)
