I am new to the whole ‘Word Press’ way of building sites. Are all of the WP sites this slow? I shelled out the $35 for this template is because one, it is clean, and two, it seemed to load pretty fast. Where am I going wrong?

Yes, I know about WP Super Cache and how that is supposed to help – I don’t understand half the things it’s asking me to do.

And if there is a way for these templates to be loaded faster, shouldn’t they come that way? Why do I have to spend money, then time customizing my site only to be told that I have to optimize my Word Press site for it to load faster? Freaking silly.

I am just very frustrated on how long it takes to load the site, the dashboard and every little change I make to it.

Looking for guidance from you guys. Please help.

I have added the wp-super-cache and there is still a very noticeable lag between clicking & loading of the page.

I’m dying here. Anything from anyone?

I think the problem is your hoster. It seems that you run a clean installation of WordPress with Brightbox. Page generation time should be between 0,6 to 1,3 seconds. In your case the server needs around 8 seconds to response. I’m not sure if it’s the server hardware or a hoster software problem however because of the long response time you won’t get fast loading times. If the hardware is bad the caching plugins may even slow down your system/loading time because html minification, gzip compression, etc. require cpu power

Yep. I was with IX Webhosting who served me well for years. They are, however, unequipped to handle Word Press Sites. I switched to Go Daddy – they have hosting specific for WP. Runs like a CHAMP!!!

Glad that it works now :)
