I guess, I probably should of thought more about this when I first started up a website and bought this template. I barely have any background in html or css other than some basics from a few years ago. I’m not sure where to start or what programs or software I need to really edit this template, and design my website.

Any advice on software, tutorials, etc… for editing a wordpress template (I bought the newscast one)…would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

Perhaps the first place to start is to sit down with pen and paper and work out what you want you website to say. Create the text, sort the photos and graphics. Then look at some sites that you like the look of, develop you idea and then see if Newscast meets your needs. You seem to have started the wrong way round. You will find most of the information on making changes in the many threads on this site. You dont really need any software as most of the changes that you might need to make can be dome from changing code in the template. have you got your wordpress and Newscast template installed on your server.

I already have the text..and what I want my site to say… oh and yes it is installed now.

I just don’t really know where to go from here…like how to make new pages and have them on navigation, or how to make images show up on the slider, or how to really edit anything.

do I need to know mostly css or html, or both?

Ok, the best way forward is to go to youtube and watch one of the many videos on creating pages. Also check here for menus and pictures (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -theme

Thanks Dogmut for helping us out.
