I’m using Enfold and I want to modify the content form on one of my websites to add the usual language “Your email address will not be published or shared”. I’m able to do this with no problem by modifying the appropriate line in the comments.php file in the parent folder. However, I would like to do this only via the child-theme, so that it doesn’t get wiped out when the Enfold parent theme gets updated. I haven’t been able to do it that way.

What I tried doing was adding the entire comments.php file, as appropriately modified, into my child-theme. However that doesn’t seem to work. The new language doesn’t take, and the default language of the parent theme is all that show up.

Can you advise as to how this addition of new language to the content form can be done via the child theme?

    Hi jbiasucci!

Try also including single.php in your child theme and see if that helps grab it from the includes folder correctly.

    Best regards,

    Hi Devin,

Thanks. Turns out that adding the single.php file wasn’t necessary. Your suggested change made me realize I had not put the comment.php file into an includes folder in the child-theme. Once I did that, the change held without the need to add the single.php file to the child-theme folder as well.
