For my website i use your Shoutbox template. When I want to display as main media a video from vimeo, youtube, dailymotion it is just perfect and easy to add the URL of the video in the “Featured Media” box in the field “Embed video when image is clicked ….” . Your template is awesome for that.
What can i modify to also accept in that field video URLs from Facebook or other plateforms, even if i have to add some code to test the video provider and specify a different way to embed it ?

I ask you that because on my website i share videos from sport events that the organizers send me to promote their races.
Now I have more and more of them that provide me Facebook videos.
Until now it was not common, so i put the video inside the post using the embed code they provide ( butmy purpose is to put the video at the top of the post, like i do with youtube or others), but it seems that since Facebook add their little message inciting people to upload their videos on their plateform when they want to share a youtube video they use it more often now.

    Thanks for your help

    Hey Xym!

    Is it this?

You could try using the code they give you there.

    Best regards,

    Hello Elliott,

Thanks, but that is the code I already use when i want to display their videos inside a post.

What i need is some code i can add in the template files (in php) so the theme can accept facebook video URLs in the “Feature media” section (see below)

So it can display the video before the title of the post, like it is already working with youtube, vimeo … videos.
Or at least telling me witch file i can modify to accept facebook videos and add special code if it is this kind of video.

It would take a lot of time and code to implement so it would have to be considered custom work. It would be best to hire a freelancer to help you out with this customization.

Ok, thanks, I will look to code it by myself, i was just asking, in case you already know where to touch the code.

Sorry we couldn’t be of more help, please let us know if you should have any further problems or questions in a new thread.
