since our hoster will switch to PHP 7.1 on December 1, 2018, we “upgraded” from PHP 7.0 to PHP 7.1 accordingly. Unfortunately there have been problems in the backend since then, some pages are no longer displayed correctly:
– Media: none to see, only that there are some, also the number is right, but no media to see
– Pages: dto.
– Orders: dto.
– Vouchers: dto.
– Products with all subareas: here everything is in order
The following has already been done by us on our test server to isolate the possible source of error:
– all pugins disabled
– Abundance 4.3 replayed (incl. avia 1.4)
– woocommerce 2.6.14 replayed
Result -> still the same errors
instead of Abundance the theme twentyseventy played -> everything is fine and in the best order, no mistake
This of course suggests that it can only be due to abundance – all other possibilities have, to our knowledge, been sorted out.
What can we do?
Thanks a million for coming back asap
PS: Sorry for double sending, but it looks like the first support questions hasn’t gone throughDecember 1, 2018 at 7:53 pm #1039724
we would be really happy if we could get an answer, no matter how small. We need the help or little hints what we can do regarding the troubles Abundance makes after the upgrading to PHP 7.1
Or may I expect to share the same fate as Katharina, see https://kriesi.at/support/topic/php-version-7-2/ , who, as I have read, has the same problem with Incarnation as we have with Abundance.
Obviously we are not alone with those Kriesi-Problems as far as it is not Enfold :-(

You can refer on Yigit’s answer in that thread, at the moment our developers are working on Enfold’s compatability with Gutenberg and it may take them some time to provide the fix for Abundance :(
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for taking the time to answer at all.
Referring to the above mentioned thread I can’t find any better words: What an answer!
We hope that Kriesi and all his staff will be successful with Enfold. Good luck! :->
But since our instinct for self-preservation is greater than waiting quietly for someone who might pity the problems of Abundance users somewhere in the distant future, it is time now to say goodbye and to look for alternatives.

With regards to your concern Abundance theme is now older than 7 years and it is no longer viable to maintain them. This is mainly caused by the fact that themeforest, rather than requesting users to renew their license each year, have added the “support packages” which really can’t cover the ongoing development costs for themes that had their prime years ago.
If you happened to purchase the Abundance theme within the last 6 months, you can apply for a refund at themeforest. Kriesi will simply grant the refund without any questions.

Thank you for this honest answer, whereby the policy of themeforest can not really be the problem of your customers. For example, you could certainly sell and support your themes through another channel if you’re not really satisfied with themeforest?
And let’s be honest, why do you sell Abundance when it’s outdated and you don’t want to support it any longer? I would feel pretty screwed up if I’d just bought it. Especially when problems and requests for help are answered in such a way that you can’t take care of them at the moment, because of Enfold etc. etc. etc. So be honest with potential customers and take Abundance out.
Don’t misunderstand. I admit that Abundance is a theme that has been around for some years now, but nevertheless it was and still is a good stable e-commerce theme, otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed so long with it.
Unfortunately, you and first of all Kriesi have never again created a similarly good e-commerce theme. We’ve been hoping for something new for some time now. Urgenly after it became clear that Abundance shouldn’t be developed further (Responsiv etc. pp).
And Enfold … Enfold can’t keep up with the current competitors’ products. And please don’t argue that Endfold is not just an e-commerce theme. Even Replete is running out of years – I never liked it that much anyway … but that’s another story. You see – no (Purchase code hidden if logged out) theme in your portfolio. That’s a pity.
Well, the fact is, it’s a pity how matters are now. Maybe the whole thing has a good side and gives the impetus to think about it and about further project planning at Kriesi et al.
… hope that this will be read from Kries too or that it will be forwarded to himDecember 7, 2018 at 12:18 pm #1042008
oups … what’s the system doing here … I wrote and it should be displayed:
“… Even Replete is running out of years – I never liked it that much anyway … but that’s another story. You see – no up to date e-commerce theme in your portfolio. That’s a pity.”
