Unique Permalinks For Each Portfolio Category

Hello,

I was hoping to use the portfolio functionality to display different categories of portfolio items, with each category having a unique URL structure. I.e.

domain.ext/category1/item
domain.ext/category2/item

I found this post – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/different-permalinks-for-multiple-portfolio/ – which suggested using a third-party plugin, but it doesn’t appear to solve the issue as it won’t let you remove or modify the permalink set for Portfolio Items.

Is there a more recent solution for this requirement by chance? Thanks!
