    Thanks for your answers to my questions at

    I went through your steps – both options (via FTP & via New Media) using the code but there was absolutely no change.

    I am no officially stuck!!! Can you please help?

    I have also lost my Magic Wand panel that just shows a blank screen. I know that I can get the shortcodes but it was useful to see the visual of what it looks like in the page at your fingertips before having to do it – can you help here also.

    Thanks so much for your help – I feel such an idiot at this!

    Hi Didier,

    I’m going to walk you through what I would do. Some of this you may already know so apologies for the repeat. :)

    – Go to Flashlight > Styling >

    – Scroll down until you see the Quick CSS box

    – Add this code then save

    .entry-mini .box {
    background-color: rgba(17,17,17,0.5);

    To explain, what I’ve done here is apply the transparent background using CSS instead a background image. FYI the format rgba(17,17,17) is simply another way of writing #111111. If you wanted to use white or #FFFFFF, you would rgba(255,255,255). The 0.5 you see is what defines the transparency/opacity. 0 for none, 1 for full. Here I have it set to 50% or 0.5. You can change this as you see fit.

    Now the downside of using this method is that older browsers do not support it which is why we were suggesting using a background image. To use the background image, you would first need to create a transparent image in Photoshop or Fireworks then upload it as we discussed in the other thread. After doing that you would need to add this to your Quick CSS.

    .entry-mini .box {
    background:transparent url(path-to-file/filename.png) repeat top left !important;

    As far as the magic wand panel, I answered that on your other thread but I’ll post the link here as well. Read this thread – (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -the-magic-wand-button

    Sorry, I have followed every step here and am still unable to see my png image. I replaced this section of the css code (path-to-file/filename.png) with wp-content/themes/flashlight/images/Sweet.png which was the url from my FTP. Please can you let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Hi ishadesign,

    Make sure you’ve refreshed your page a few times and that you aren’t looking at a cached version that does not have your changes.

    If you have a link to your site, we can take a look at try and figure out what went wrong.
