I recently had my site go live and since then have had weird comments from strangers, which I promptly mark as spam. I also just installed the Askimet plugin in the hopes that will help stop them. But I got a request today that I have NO idea how to respond to or remedy. The person said: Once I initially commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now every time a remark is added I get four emails with the same comment. Is there any means you can take away me from that service? Thanks!

I don’t think this is even a real person as their site looks like spam to me. Should I just turn off the ability to post comments completely?

    Hi Kate,

In your WP Admin Dashboard, go to Settings > Discussion. And Find these settings:

Other comment settings Users must be registered and logged in to comment

Check this one if you want only your members to comment on your blog

Before a comment appears An administrator must always approve the comment

Check this one if you want to approve comments before it appears to your blog’s comment

You can check other settings there that might be useful to you.

    Hope this helps.
