I’ve set up my site, but the front page slider won’t work. The first image appears but the others won’t. Using the slider’s navigation buttons, sometimes the other images will appear, but not for long. The correct front page is chosen in the theme settings.
A second small issue, should customcss not have appeared automatically under the Editor. Apologies if I’ve missed something very obvious…August 13, 2012 at 8:34 am #86749
Try to disable all plugins and re-update your permalinks. This might fix the issue. :)
The second issue, custom.css will not appear under the editor. Inside the WP Dashboard only Quick CSS is accessible. If you want to edit in custom.css, you can do it via ftp or cpanel. Hope this helps. :)

Thank you for your answer. It very nearly fixed it. While the slider now works, a black background now appears at random intervals. There are no plugins activated at the moment, and I tried re-setting the permalinks several times.

I’m not sure what’s causing that glitch, I can barely see the black background, it appears sometimes during transition. I’ll just tag the rest of the support, they might know something about the issue.

I spoke too soon. The black re-appeared shortly after.
I then removed all posts, pages and media, all themes and plugins and deleted everything via ftp. Added a fresh wordpress install, brought in your theme with only your content, and the black is still there. Certainly on Chrome on a Mac. Tried another permalinks save.
Your theme was uploaded via the backend, as was the shop plugin.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

This is weird because I can’t really reproduce it. Try selecting different kind of slider and back.

I tried changing the slider as you suggested, but it did not help. Through making other changes, I discovered it only happens when Dynamic Template is chosen. I created a new Dynamic Template to see if that would help, but sadly no.
At http://iaincameron.dk/screenshot.html there is a screenshot. As I mentioned previously, Chrome on a Mac, it behaves fine on Opera and Safari. It usually takes seven or eight slide changes for the black to appear, sometimes playing with the slider’s navigation buttons speeds this up.
I simply can’t trust the theme as it is….

When you visit the demo site, do you get the same issue on your computer and Chrome: http://kriesi.at/themes/propulsion/

Yes, the same issue appears on the demo version. Mac 10.6.8 Chrome Version 21.0.1180.82 (‘Chrome is up to date’ from About Chrome). Looks like my screenshot. Appears about every eighth slide. Disappears with the next change. Does that explain anything?

Either way, Kriesi will need to look into it and see if he can find the source of the issue and if a fix is available.
