I’m looking to be able to share images via social media/email from the lightbox if possible, instead of the ability for someone to share a whole page. I’ve tried slingpic but they only seem to work on the gallery thumbnails. Any ideas? – even the ability to insert PHP or shortcode at the bottom of a lightbox image?

Cheers. I did a bit more digging around and found these topics…
However, after making the necessary amendments and successfully getting ‘tweet’ and ‘like’ buttons to display on the slideshow, they only link to/share the portfolio page; so, I think I will leave this disabled as it’s not actually sharing a link to the picture being displayed to the user: it’s a bit misleading :-(

Thanks Ishmael. However, my latest problem, as of my last post, is more about having the ‘tweet’ and ‘like’ buttons on the prettyPhoto lightbox sharing only the active photo, rather than the whole gallery being shared and all photos in the gallery having the same number of likes. I’ve opened up a question on stackoverflow also: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17148850/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) – (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -of-facebook-l :-) Regards, Dan.June 18, 2013 at 7:40 am #123840
I saw an inquiry before and as far as I remember Dude fixed it. Let me tag him on this thread.

Sure its possible. I remember doing this fix on probably 2-3 themes over the past 9 months. I just can’t find or remember which ones but we got it working.
First thing, can you run this tool on the url where you have the prettyphoto lightbox poppin from. https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug See what it says, and if any issues it encounters.

Sure. Okay, so I just ran this link through the FB’s debug tool
The output shows two images for og:image: the site’s default facebook og:image, and the site’s featured gallery image (rather than the photo from the lightbox).
It looks like there’s a redirect going on… the latter of these two URLs is the one Facebook is extracting metadata from.
I did a print screen of the output from the debug tool available at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15561721/guntrip.org. (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -lightbox.jpg
I opened a different but related question (to my previous one) a couple of days ago on stackoverflow to do with a deep-linking issue: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17190154/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -share-lightbox-deep-link
