    Hello Kriesi team,

    I would like to add a read-more on in the “Timeline” section of my homepage “Startseite”. I can’t do this in the text editor. Can you help me?

    Many thanks in advance.

    With best regards.

    Hey Severin03,
    Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the login, to create a custom “read more” function for your timeline I adjusted the function here.
    I added this code to the end of your child theme functions.php file in Appearance > Editor:

    add_action('wp_footer', 'ava_custom_script', 10);
    function ava_custom_script(){
    (function($) {
    	$('.click-learn-more').on('click', function() {

    This css to your child theme stylesheet:

    .learn-this {
    	display: none;
    } {
    	color: #000;
    	font-weight: bolder;
    } {
    	cursor: pointer;

    and this is the format for the HTML that you add to your timeline edited, in the “text” tab.

    <span class="click-learn-more">Learn more…</span>
    <span class="learn-this"> your hidden text </span>

    Please clear your browser cache and check the first timeline item and the screenshot in Private Content area.
    Please note that your page is in “draft” and may not work correctly on some previews, if you publish the page and then check it should work correctly.

    Best regards,

    Hi Mike,

    Sorry for my late reply. I missed your answer.

    Thank you for your description. It works too. But the problem is when I click “Continue reading”, all of the “Continue reading” buttons in the timeline open. But I would like that only a “read on” opens. But I solved the whole thing via a link.

    I will also leave your changes in my functions.php and in my stylesheet in case I want to change it again.

    If I no longer need your changes, can I simply delete them again? Or are there any problems on my website?

    Thank you and best regards.

    Thanks for the feedback, and I see what you mean. If you don’t need this script then you can remove the code and have no problems.

    Best regards,

    Hi Mike,

    With best regards.

    Shall we close this thread?
