    I tweaked the footer.php code to get rid of the social media icons. Unfortunately I also caused the footer to run the complete width of the screen. Pls can you tell me how my code should be to have the footer just the width of the main white container (like the header) – I do want the text in the footer to still be visible.
    Thx!

    MY WEBSITE: http://www.beastsyndicate.com/shop/

    NOTE – I already have the following Quick CSS code for footer:
    #footer { display: none !important; }

    .post-type-archive-product .extralight-border.title_container.shop_title_container {
    display: none;
    }

    MY FOOTER.PHP FILE:
    <?php
    global $avia_config;

    //reset wordpress query in case we modified it
    wp_reset_query();

    /**
    * The footer default dummy widgets are defined in folder includes/register-widget-area.php
    * If you add a widget to the appropriate widget area in your wordpress backend the
    * dummy widget will be removed and replaced by the real one previously defined
    */
    ?>

    <!– ####### FOOTER CONTAINER ####### –>
    <div class=’container_wrap’ id=’footer’>
    <div class=’container’>

    <?php
    //create the footer columns by iterating

    $firstCol = ‘first’;
    switch($columns)

    case 1: $class = ”; break;
    case 2: $class = ‘one_half’; break;
    case 3: $class = ‘one_third’; break;
    case 4: $class = ‘one_fourth’; break;
    case 5: $class = ‘one_fifth’; break;
    }

    //display the footer widget that was defined at appearenace->widgets in the wordpress backend
    //if no widget is defined display a dummy widget, located at the bottom of includes/register-widget-area.php
    for ($i = 1; $i <= $columns; $i++)
    {
    echo “<div class=’flex_column $class $firstCol’>”;
    if (function_exists(‘dynamic_sidebar’) && dynamic_sidebar(‘Footer – column’.$i) ) : else : avia_dummy_widget($i); endif;

    Hi ATX!

    Thank you for using the theme.

    As much as possible, please don’t edit the core theme files or use a child theme if you want to modify something. You’ll be having trouble in the future when you plan to update WordPress and the theme. If you want to remove the social icons on footer or socket, use this on Quick CSS or custom.css:

    #top #socket .social_bookmarks {
    display: none !important;
    }

    Cheers!
    Ismael

    Thx Ismael. Good to know core edits could affect future updates.

    Can you provide me with the complete code for the original footer.php and any Quick CSS needed to get rid of social icons (ONLY in footer – I still want the social icon links toward the top of the page).

    Thx

    Hey!

    1- You can find footer.php here – http://pastebin.com/PQXPd3Wp
    2- Please add following code to Quick CSS in Propulsion theme options under Styling tab

    #socket .social_bookmarks {
    display: none !important;
    }

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    #327445

    Thx Yigit. That took away social bookmarks (as requested) but footer is still full width of page, not just width of main white area of blog.

    Any ideas how to fix the width?

    Hi!

    Please add following code to Quick CSS as well

    div#socket {
    background-color: transparent;
    }
    #socket .container {
    background-color: #005eab;
    }
    #socket .container {
    background-color: #005eab;
    width: 970px;
    }
    span.copyright {
    margin-left: 35px;
    }

    Best regards,
    Yigit
