Thank you for the great support pages that have answered most of my questions so far. I managed to get the theme installed, did some basic customization and setup 4 portfolios.

I wanted to confirm that –

    1. To add items to the portfolio’s, I have to go to ( Portfolio items – Add Item ) only – when I add posts in the ( Posts – Add new) it will only add the post to the blog. The posts don’t appear in the portfolio even if the categories are the same because the portfolio items are added from ( Portfolio items – Add Item ) ?

    2. There is no way to get blog posts to appear in the portfolio section directly or when posting the blog item (and the other way around) ?

You can make the portfolio items appear on the Blog page and vice versa if you assign template using the Template Builder. Basically, posts will appear on Blog page and portfolio items on Portfolio page.

    Hi Ismael,

Thanks for your reply. I tried every way to do this but could not get it to work. I’m pretty sure my theme options and template builder options are setup correctly for the categories and the same categories are used in the blog posts & portfolio posts. The issue is that the blog posts show up only in the blog area and portfolio posts only in portfolio area.

I have setup an admin account for you which will be emailed to you – can I request you to please have a look at it ? Its been a few days now that I have been trying to make this work and have started over a couple of times.

    Hi hatim,

I’m sorry for the confusion, however the blog posts and portfolio post types are not able to be queried together using the theme options. They will operate independent of one another.

If you wanted to have them show up on the same page, you could use a template from the template builder to display portfolio items in one section and blog posts in another but you could not make them appear in the same section/element.

    Again, sorry for any confusion.

    Hi Devin,

Many thanks for clarifying this and for the suggestion.

Sorry for that. Devin is correct there are different queries between the portfolio and the blog posts. You really need to do this via Template Builder.
