    I was hoping you could help me with removing the thumbnail images from under the banner on the home page. I know those thumbnails are the images being used in the banner, is it possible to remove those and place text there? Here is the website I am working on

    Thank you!

    Oh one more thing, how do I increase the size of the widget area at the bottom? The clients email address is a little long and it is being cut off, I need to expand the widget area just a little bit.

    i just have the same problem. How can i increase the widgets in the footer area?

    Next questions. Is it possible to have only 3 footer columns instead of 4?

    This thread shows you how to decrease the number of footer widgets: (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -3-or-2

    The question was answered for Habitat there but should be the same for Avisio.

    You can increase the footer column width by modying the width of #top .footer .column4 – you’ll find it in style.css.

    #top .footer .column4{
    font-size: 11px;
    line-height: 19px;

    You can also change the column width of the other columns by using #top .footer .column1, #top .footer .column2 and #top .footer .column3

    Thanks, now how do I remove the “Our Work” Section from under the banner and place text there?

    I am still needing to remove the little boxes, the images that make up the banner on the home page. You have it labeled as “our work”, I would really like to be able to place some text in that location. Can you please let me know how I can remove the boxes and or split that into 2 colums so I can place text next to it. Which file needs to be modified really is what I am needing to know.

    Thank you!

    You need to replace following code in index.php with your html text:

    echo '<a href="'.get_permalink($k_option['mainpage']['buttonLink']).'" class="big_button heading ie6fix">';
    echo '<strong class="ie6fix">'.$k_option['mainpage']['buttonText'].'</strong><span class="buttonBg dynamicBg"></span></a>';

    Thank you I will give this a try!!!

    Hello, sorry to ask another question, but I am a designer not a programmer so I need just a little more help.

    I have been able to locate the line(s) of code you talked about, I have been able to remove it and place text there. But when I place the text there it butts right up against the banner, how can I get the text to sit in the middle like the iamges were that I removed?

    Thank you!

    This is the last thing I need to accomplish on this project. I can place the text in the area you showed me, but how I can get the text to not butt-up against the banner?

    You can wrap it – create a div and add a margin to it like:

    <div style="margin: -10px 0 0 10px;">My text</div>

    Margin parameter: margin: top right bottom left;

    Hi dude,

    Tried your fix as stated above and got an error: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home6/guamsurv/public_html/guamtraining/buildout3/wp-content/themes/avisio-business-and-portfolio/avisio/index.php on line 45”

    Did exactly as you wrote. Replaced this…

    echo ‘‘;

    echo ‘<strong class=”ie6fix”>’.$k_option.'<span class=”buttonBg dynamicBg”></span>‘;

    <div style=”margin: -10px 0 0 10px;”>My text</div>

    Got the error every time.

    Please help.

    Ok You’re missing the php tags here – try following:

    ?> <div style="margin: -10px 0 0 10px;">My text</div> <?php

    echo '<div style="margin: -10px 0 0 10px;">My text</div>';

    Thanks. That worked to get the text in there. However, it’s not formatted.

    1. If this forum allowed for attachments I would upload an image to show it, but essentially it looks like normal text. I’m looking to make it as large as the “Why Avisio?” What can I add to make that happen?

    2. Those three thumbnail images are still in there. How can I remove them, without removing them from the slider itself?

    Oh, and #3, I would still like to shrink that whole area from the current size to maybe half or two-thirds of it. Please advise how to do that.

    Much appreciated.

    Okay, figured out #3, featured stripe area now 70px instead of 135 and exactly what I want.

    Now, if I can make the text larger, that will finish off this section.

    You can try following code:

    ?> <div style="margin: -10px 0 0 10px;float:right;"><h2> My text </h2></div> <?php

    I’m not sure what you mean with “the thumbnails are still in there”? – They should be located on the left of your text. You can upload your images via – just choose the html forum option after upload.

    Thanks for that. Text looks good. One more small thing.

    The text is riding high in the Feature Stripe, somewhat into the shaded area.

    Is there a way to lower it down a little? I tried the padding in the code you sent but it is vertical padding, not horizontal.

    Thanks for the help.

    You can play with the margin value or add a padding to it – have a look at this page for more syntax information:

    I need a screenshot or a demo to see what changes are needed exactly.

    How do I add a screenshot? No upload tool.

    Okay, I saw somebody else use and set up an account. We’re good for screenshots.

    Here’s the text centering issue.

    I have the same question, how I can center the text in the space? Does it have to do with “margin: -10px 0 0 10px;float:right;” ?

    Here is a link to the site I am working on, this is the very last thing I need to complete, thank you for all your help!!

    As I said above you can adjust your text with margin and/or padding values.

    I tried it out my self and setting the margin-top value to 30px gave me a good result.

    ?> <div style="margin: 30px 0 0 0;float:right;"><h2> My text </h2></div> <?php

    Hi Dude,

    Still doesn’t work, even with that change. See my image below.

    What happens now is that the box moves downward to expose the brown color above, but the end result is that the text still does not look centered.

    Other comments are on the image. Thanks.

    Thank you for the clarificaton on the margin, I believe I mentioned several times I am not a programmer!!!

    I do appreciate you supporting this theme and the people who spent money on it. But you might want to keep in mind not everyone understands the code or the way the theme is created the same way you do. This might help reduce the amount of posts and times you have to help everyone.

    I was able to get the text centered and things look great, I appreciate all of your help.
