    After cobbling together information from the forum her I made the basic color scheme for my site. The only thing I havent figured out is how to change the text color in the additional headline area from white to something darker. In my style1.css all the h1,h2 etc settings are set to various shades of grey but something is over-riding it. Can someone take a look at my crazy attempt at css? -Very little content yet…

    Weird. I just fixed it by changing color value in style1.css line 19..

    One thing that isn’t working is my hover color for links.. It must be getting over-ridden somewhere?

    Also, the links in footer “Copyright 2010 ” etc looks like it is getting double commands from somewhere..

    why it looks weird;

    ?} :(

    The hover colour for links is being set by the colour set in WP admin for the Background colour (Appearance > Background) so adjusting / removing this will (the colour is set to #666666; leave the background image alone though unless you want to remove it).

    The code for the footer copyright section colour is set in style1.css:

    .footer, #top .footer a:hover, .footer h1, .footer h2, .footer h3, .footer h4, .footer h5, .footer h6, .dropcap2, .dropcap3, .wrapper_heading h2, .button, #js_sort_items span, #top .pagination a:hover {
    text-shadow:1px 1px 0 #222222;

    .footer a {

    Note that because the colour is set twice, the #BBBBBB is the colour you see because it has the higher priority as it is set after #FFFFFF;

    .footer a:hover is set in the first set of code so hover colours will change to white.

    Thanks for that James! It makes sense. I am now stuck on the Portfolio titles. Right now when I set an “a:link color ” attribute in style1 I get the change that I want- except it changes the portfolio titles too. I tried adding an” ! important” attribute to line:

    h3, h3 a, h4, h4 a, h5, h5 a, h6, h6 a, strong{ color:#555; }

    I also tried repeating it at the end of the style1 file following the logic that it will affect the change “last”. Any ideas what I can do?

    I am trying to change my “additional Headline” text color to the grey that I have on my background. I am doing this because I am going to add a white image in the background to replace the color.

    Also, when I click from one page to another, the text changes size for about half a second.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi tkhstudios,

    I’m not sure if this is what you mean but its the h2 elements in the headers on the sub pages:

    #wrapper_featured_area h2 {
    color: #666 !important;

    Basically, I need the text to be “grey” because I am making the background “white”. This will happen only in the Headline areas.

    Do I paste this code in the CSS area?

    and how do I keep the text from changing sizes when I go from one page to the other?

    The header should stay the same size by default. And yes you can just add that to your main style.css.
