My intent is to have a home page with a right sidebar that shows unique content from any other page. I also require a dynamic layout on that page.

I therefore created a dynamic template following Ismael’s advice as found here: (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -template-settings and selected the right sidebar layout and confirmed the following content:

    text area/call out/quotes

    post/page content

I then proceeded to create a new widget area for that template. I’ve added content to the widget area and everything appears BUT I also get all the blog page widget content as well (which I don’t want). I’ve gone so far as to witness that if I remove the blog content in my dynamic selection, the problem disappears. But, voilà, I wish to keep this blog content on my front page (w/o its dragged widgets, of course). Anybody can light my candle on this one?

demo page for the new front page is here:

    Hi philipbrook,

Yes, wordpress and its sidebars are stacking so that is the correct and expected behavior. If you want widgets visible only on a specific page I would recommend using something like .

The widget area in the template builder works as a sidebar in addition to the page/blog/display everywhere widget areas and not as a ‘display only these widgets in this area’.

Thanks Devin, I think that will do the trick.

    Glad we could help :)
