Hi, I love this theme!..I am having problems with the shop page. The main menu is on top of it…the cart page displays properly but not the shop page. the site is http://www.djyoungguru.com
Also, can you play music on the site?….a discreet player that automatically comes on when you get to the site and the public has the option of turning it off?
Thanks!September 24, 2012 at 4:38 am #91830
I’m sure you can use audio plugins to play music on page load.
How did you create the Shop page?

When I installed the plugin the page was included…then I tried to uninstall woocommerce and create a page and then install and identify that page as the shop page in the woocommerce settings…Can I email you my login?…this is my first time using woocommerce…And I have to applaud you for your theme because I was able to easily do this.September 25, 2012 at 4:12 pm #91832
I’m not sure what you mean. Did the shop page look like the demo here: http://kriesi.at/themes/flashlight/shop/
It has the menu at the top which is the default behavior.

I just removed the pages from the main menu..thats why you’re probably confused…I had the up the past couple days hoping you guys would get back to me sooner, but I had to remove them from the main menu because when people click on shop it looks very bad and the client isn’t happy…VERY bad reflection on his brand. I clicked on your link..right thats how its SUPPOSED to be but the main menu (main site menu) on the right was ON TOP of that..it was bad.. Im hoping it will be as simple as “pushing it over” in css…but I dont know css…Need your help!
Can you PLEASE send me your email so that I can send you my login so you can fix this asap? The “pages” are still there I didn’t erase them..I just removed them from the main site menu.

Hi guys I really need your help. Can someone please respond? Thanks.

Sorry about the delay. I looked at the site.
1) Please expand on your statement ‘ I clicked on your link..right that’s how its SUPPOSED to be but the main menu (main site menu) on the right was ON TOP of that.’ I see a menu on the left. In which browser was it on top?
2) Please let us know the specific url of the page where the problem is occurring, because I am unable to find the issue you described.

I had the shop page up but removed the from the main menu so that no one will click on the shop page and see it before it was fixed..thats why you didn’t see the problem. I have had the pages up for a while but you guys respond a couple days later and I don’t want it up as its a very bad reflection on the clients brand to have a dysfunctional website. I have asked repeatedly if I can send my login to someone to just look at the site from the admin panel..I know its a simple fix for you guys…unfortunately not for me.
To reiterate the problem, when you click on the shop page from the main menu/main navigation on the right, the main menu then appears in the middle of the screen ON TOP of the “ALL PRODUCTS” shop page. The “Cart” page shows fine though…which is interesting. Please help.

Don’t add the page with the problem to the menu and nobody will be able to get to it without knowing the url. You can also set up a second directory for your development work so as not to work on the live site. When you can provide the link, we will be glad to assist, but without seeing the problem our hands are tied. In order to proceed we anxiously await the url (you can cloak it if you want) or email me [ usjahm ] at [ gmail ] .com

THANK YOU! Right the page does exist..I just didn’t add it to the menu…Emailing you now.October 5, 2012 at 4:59 pm #91839
I looked at your site. Once you create content, the left menu will move where it is supposed to be. You need to first create products and categories and all the rest of things that make an online store. The main store page is expecting to find categories and products, and when none are there it will show an empty page. Add some content.
I added 2 plugins for you, one to speed up your site *w3 cache* which made your site much faster, and *bulletproof security* plugin to protect you against hackers.
Once you post some content please let us know how thing go. Don’t forget to change your password.

Hi Nick Thank you…Questions…this BPS alert…is that supposed to remain at the top of the screen?…do I have to “do” anything to activate or further install these plugins?..So you’re saying you added a “test product” and it appeared fine?..funny the cart page displayed fine even though the cart was empty….October 8, 2012 at 11:10 am #91841
I didn’t add any products, because its a live site. I looked at the site through Firebug.
The security plugin should be ok. I added security to protect the main site and the admin backend, but as you can see it has many different additional options. I would leave it alone as it is, because now it will be much more harder for anyone to break into the site and it is considered the best security for wordpress.
The W3 Total Cache is not fully set up. That takes time and a finished website. However I turned on some of its features on, and checked through google speed that they were working (and they were). You can optimize the plugin further once you have finished with the products.
You can directly access the shop without the menu. If I were you, I would create a copy of the website on my localhost on my own personal computer where I would test things first before doing it on the live site, so that way you don’t make a mistake and anger the client. Install XAMPP if you use Windows7 (google it) on your home computer. I would do all the testing locally (localhost) and only then I’d get it going on the live website. This way there is no guessing.
Site looks good.
