    Hi there,

when I add a category to the menu, the last menu item is automatically deactivated. It still shows, but it’s no longer an active link. In the backend, it is switched to “benutzerdefiniert” instead of “Seite”.

The position of the new category item does not matter – I’ve tried adding “News” category as sub-item of the blog, but the same problem appears when I add it anywhere else.

Here is the link to the site in question: http://www.meridian.co.at

I’m happy to send you the login details.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Thomas,

Is this category being added in from the Menus manager? Have you tried adding in the menu item by creating a custom menu item and filling in the URL to the category view instead of selecting the category from the scrollable area/category box?

    Hi Devin,

    thanks for your reply.

Yes, I’ve tried adding a custom menu item. Same problem.

However I add it – category or any type of custom link – causes the last menu item to become “custom” and empty / without link.

Have a look at this article: http://swordfishsoup.co.uk/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -wordpress-custom-menus/ – probably that’s the issue in your case and you need to ask the hoster to increase the config. values.

    Hi Peter,

thanks for your input. I’ve contacted my hosting provider to make the changes.

I’ll let you know if it solves the problem.

    Hi Peter,

YES. You nailed it. That solved the problem.

Thanks so much for the great support here.

    Hi Thomas,

Glad that Peter helped you. I’ve marked this thread as resolved. :)
